Incredible Ice-Hockey Goal

Oscar Milton, a 17-year-old center for Almtuna J20 in Sweden, didn't settle for imitation and went for the innovation in scoring an amazing goal: Lifting the puck onto his blade and tossing it off the back of the goaltender's mask in a game against Nacka of Stockholm.
The slow-mo replay of this goal, really captures what makes it an instant classic; well, that and the mini pile-on by his teammates after the tally. No wonder it was a goal of the year.

Miss of the Century

You wonder what goes through the minds of footballers sometimes - although it's pretty clear what Qatar's Fahad Khalfan was thinking after missing the easiest of open goals in the Asian Games against Uzbekistan.
You don't need to be an expert lip-reader to see the 18-year-old mutter 's***' under his breath as the camera focuses on his reaction after what can only be described as one of the misses of the century.
Taking advantage of a mistake by Uzbeki goalkeeper Timur Juraev, who flapped at the ball in the opening moments of extra time, Khalfan found himself almost completely alone inside the penalty area.
So, with the scent of glory in his nostrils, Khalfan takes a couple of touches until he's pretty much in the centre of the goal, two yards out.
The problem is the ball's not well placed for him to strike it with his favoured left foot.
'But no matter', he thinks, 'I'm only a couple of yards out so I'll use the outside of my boot.'
Oops. Cue ball hitting post and widespread bewilderment among team-mates and opponents alike.
A moment of panic insues as our Fahad realises his mistake - and that's when the camera finds him.
Yes, Fahad, 's***' just about sums it up.
The worst part about the whole episode was our hero's side ended up losing 1-0 after extra-time. Bet he wasn't a popular guy in the dressing room afterwards...

Evo Morales knees football opponent in groin

Bolivian president, Evo Morales, knees La Paz town hall player, Daniel Cartagena, in the groin during a football match.
The friendly match started when, wearing a No 10 green jersey, Morales, a football fanatic and Bolivia's first indigenous president, led his team of bodyguards and officials on to the artificial pitch.
The yellow team was led by Luis Revilla, mayor of La Paz and a political ally turned foe of the president. After smiles and handshakes the game began. Within five minutes Daniel Gustavo Cartagena, in the No 2 jersey for the mayor's team, scythed into the president after he passed the ball, gashing his right leg.
Morales, 50, a former Aymara llama herder and coca farmer, is not known for indulging critics, let alone people who foul him. He walked up to Cartagena, indicated his wound, then kneed him in the groin. The player collapsed, prompting audible whistles from spectators.
The match swiftly deteriorated into a bad-tempered, foul-filled contest which arguably mirrored the Andean country's combative politics. By the end, the match drawn at 4-4, two players from each side had been sent off, including Cartagena and one of the president's bodyguards.
One bodyguard tried to arrest Cartagena after the final whistle, the newspaper La Razón reported, but he was released after Revilla intervened.
Morales denied ordering the arrest but was unrepentant about his response to Cartagena's foul. "I passed the ball and suddenly I received a hammering. It's not the first time it happened," the president told reporters hours later.

Jimmy Jump in Hungary

Everyone’s favourite pitch invader Jimmy Jump made a surprise appearance at the Ujpest-Ferencvaros derby this weekend in Hungary.
After being allowed to stroll around the pitch and shaking several players hands, finally the Benny Hill style chase came to pass as the officials tried to catch the intruder. As soon as they approached however, Jimmy Jump scarpered with the match ball at his feet. He outstripped his porky chasers, scored a goal into the net, before performing a Jurgen Klinsmann style celebration to eventually allow the stewards to catch up with him.
